Deuterium is a naturally occuring element which is found everywhere around us, in the water we drink, in the food we eat, in the air we breathe. However, the concentration of deuterium, which is a factor in the proper functioning of our body cells, varies.
For example, natural, fatty food like grass fed meat, wild caught fish and seafood, green vegetables and nuts all have low deuterium and are ideal as a diet including deuterium depleted water (25 HydroHealth).
On the other hand, processed food products containing refined and natural sugars, carbohydrates, and proteins, especially when they contain gene modified (GMO) products are high în deuterium. Fruits, grains and non-green plants also contain elevated deuterium levels.Other things that increase deuterium are exposure to artificial blue light (especially at night), EMFs from wireless devices and cell phones, supplements and pharmaceuticals.
